NG Rd7&8 - Another lap record!

Well, Leon's been at it again! Breaking lap records that is! He now has yet another to add to his collection. This time it was at Snetterton with the NG Road Racing club on 12th and 13th June. On the Saturday Leon won both races (in class), and by some margin too! Race one saw Leon clock a lap time of 1:15:65 to break the club record which stood at 1:17:10. Amazing! But things got even better in the points race...Leon not only smashed his own new club record, he also smashed the outright F400 circuit record with a time of 1:14:53...some seven tenths of a second faster than the old lap record. In fact, all of Leon's lap times on the Saturday would have smashed the club's lap record...unbelievable!

On the Sunday, Leon carried on where he left off...again he won both races (in class), and again he was streaks ahead of his nearest rival. There were no new lap records for Leon on Sunday, but this was his first double race victory of the season. And, we have learnt since that Leon was riding with severe ligament damage in his right hand, caused by the crash at Pembrey a few weeks ago. It needed urgent attention and Leon went in for surgery last week...this makes the way he rode even more impressive than it already was. However, that's bad news for Leon's season, but it's more important that he gets the damage to his hand sorted out and concentrate on next year. I do have a sneaky suspicion, though, that we'll see Leon back on track before this season is over. Good luck with the recovery Leon...
