Quick, call the fire brigade!

Look what I found - a picture of an exploding bike. It happened during the qualifying session of the 600 Superstocks last time out. Luckily though, Leon wasn't involved in the incident...

(That's gonna hurt the wallet!)

Superman in Superstocks...

Here's a short film to celebrate Leon's two 600 Superstock race victories at the weekend. Riding like a true champion, Leon dominated both races from start to finish. It was a treat to watch. Well done mate, now sit back and enjoy...

EMRA Rd3 - What a scorcher!

The third round of the EMRA Championship took place on Sunday, and what a lovely warm sunny day it turned out to be too.

Qualifying couldn't have gone any better, for Leon that is, as we saw him masterfully sticking his BMC Honda on pole. Yes, on pole...truly brilliant! Mike had problems with his bike but still managed to put himself on the second row. Both Freddy and Gordon (two more BMC riders) stuck their bikes on the fourth row, and yours truly (yes I'm back in action) was right behind them on row five.

Race one saw Leon lead from pole for most of the race. He had pulled quite a lead at one point, but got caught towards the end of the race finishing in a superb second place. Some more good points in the bank. Mike tried changing his battery for race one, but it didn't solve his problem and found himself battling it out for a very well deserved fifth place. And despite his problems still able to put in a 59 second lap time. Awesome! There were battles all the way down the field in fact, with Freddy riding hard to claim the final points position in tenth. Gordon rode well to claim thirteenth. And I managed to match my lap times from last year, which made me happy, finishing in fifteenth.

Here's a clip of the start of race one:

Race two was a carbon copy of the first, with Leon leading from the off for most of the race, then finding himself in a fierce fight for the win towards the end. In fact, I witnessed the scrap first hand, when Leon and Richard Saunders (the eventual winner) came flying past me round Gerrards on the last lap, locked wheel to wheel in battle. I was privileged to see them slug it out right to the chequered flag, with Leon so nearly retaking the lead round the hairpin. Another great ride, and more valuable points. Mike had put new plugs in to his bike for race two. It seemed to sort out the problem as he rode hard to finish a fantastic fourth place. Great points in the bag for him too, he's still very much in the hunt for a top three finish. Freddy rode a blinder, finishing a terrific sixth place...putting in some of his vintage lap times too. Gordon came twelfth, and I went two places better than race one, finishing in thirteenth.

Here's a clip of the first lap of race two:

But it doesn't end there. Leon took his R6 for an outing in the Superstock 600's, with not a moment to pause between switching from that and the 400's. And, you could say he had a good day out with the big boys...because he only went and won both races! In fact, he seemed to outclass the field, finishing with a very comfortable lead in both races. I think that puts him in second place in the Superstock championship, which goes very nicely with his current number one position in the 400 championship. Well done Leon, it was a joy to watch. And well done to all...a thoroughly great days racing action for the BMC Racing team.

Our Mother

Just over a week ago, on Sunday 25th May, mother sadly passed away. And we've been going through loads of family pictures since. We came across this one, it's a shot of her with her four boys, doing what we as a family seem to love most...hanging out at motorbike events. This was taken many years ago when we used to go schoolboy scrambling. There are many happy memories of those days. We hope you like the picture...
